Emory Executive Devlopment Announces the Goizueta Executive Series
ATLANTA (January 23, 2008) – Emory Executive Development announces the expansion of its program portfolio for mid- to Sr.-level executives with the Goizueta Executive Series. The Series of one to two day programs is designed for individuals with demanding schedules who require quick bursts of topical, high-level, knowledge and inspiration in a time-efficient format. Emory Executive Development will continuously renew the Series to offer eternal opportunities for leaders to learn.
The Goizueta Executive Series showcases the faculty of the top ranked Goizueta Business School who lead participants through dynamic, multifaceted learning experiences. Utilizing pre-work, interactive sessions and follow-up application, the Goizueta Executive Series will infuse learning into the overall experience, engaging participants within the classroom, and beyond. The current Goizueta Executive Series schedule includes;
April 30 - Strategic Leadership Development: Leveraging Human Capital for Competitive Advantage – In the next decade over half of the U.S. workforce will reach retirement age. Lead by Dr. Rick Gilkey, participants will have the opportunity to build a talent management strategy that ensures they are systematically identifying and investing in top leadership.
June 19 - Executive Courage: The Art of Negotiation and Conflict Management – Unresolved conflict can waste significant time and resources within organizations. Professor Michael Sacks will work with participants to implement effective negotiation strategies and reduce the costs of conflict to maximize economic returns in short-term or long-term situations.
July 30/31 - Strategic Financial Management: Linking Strategy and Finance – This program is designed for Sr. executives who function in non-financial areas who wish to strengthen their knowledge of finance and improve strategic decision-making. On Day 1, Professor Mian Shehzad sets the foundation by establishing key financial links to functional areas, helping participants understand financial statements and reports, competitive benchmarking and critical financial ratios. Day 2 delves into applying financial acumen to improve individual decision-making and have a positive impact on organizational strategy.
Jeff Rosensweig, Associate Professor of Finance and Director of the Global Perspectives Program at the Goizueta Business School, is the host for the Series.
