Endowment and Naming Opportunities

Goizueta Business School’s endowments provide a steady source of income and over time, we can leverage these resources, make commitments and build our programs. Each endowed account has its own stipulations about how and for what purpose the income may be used. At present, endowment income represents only nine percent of Goizueta Business School’s 2005-2006 revenues.

Endowed funds support important initiatives, as outlined by donors. These areas of support include faculty chairs and professorships, scholarships, research, libraries, teaching, curricular development, buildings and grounds, technology, new or evolving academic programs and more.

Goizueta Business School’s endowment accounts provide stability against inflation and recession; leverage other revenue sources to accomplish such goals as admitting students based on achievement and potential, and not on ability to pay; encourage innovation and flexibility in teaching and research; and allow the School to plan for the long term.

Endowed Naming Opportunities

Endowed gifts are invested and the principal is held in perpetuity. A portion (currently 4.75%) of the market value is awarded annually for the purpose designated by the donor. Minimum support levels for various types of endowments have been established in order to ensure that income will be sufficient to achieve the donor’s intent – now and in the future. Endowments may be named in recognition of the generosity of the donor, or in memory or honor of persons of the donor’s choice.
