Biography

Huy Huynh joins Emory University’s Goizueta Business School as an Associate Professor in the Practice of Information Systems & Operations Management in spring 2024. In his research, Huynh focuses on capturing and analyzing time series data sources and building predictive models in order to gain new insight and improve strategic decision-making.

Prior to joining Goizueta, Huynh served as an Associate Teaching Professor at the University of Notre Dame. During his 11 years of service at Notre Dame, Huynh developed and taught undergraduate and graduate courses for various programs in statistics, data science, and business analytics. A passionate and dedicated teacher, Huynh strives to help his students comprehend the material, enjoy learning, and apply what they learn to solve real-world context problems.

Huynh has won numerous teaching awards including the 2023 Outstanding Faculty Award of the Master of Science in Business Analytics and the 2023 James Dincolo Outstanding Teaching Award in the Department of Information Technology, Analytics, and Operations (ITAO) at Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business. In addition, Huynh was among the highly selective faculty who built and taught online courses for Notre Dame’s first Online M.S. in Data Science program.

Huynh received his PhD in Mathematics and M.S. in Statistics from the Georgia Institute of Technology. In his spare time, he enjoys jogging, watching college football, listening to personal finance podcasts, and spending time with his wife and two young daughters.
