Organization & Management
We live in a society where organizations are the engines of technology and social innovation, the foundations of careers, and the bases of social diversity. The study of organizations is at the cutting edge of the social sciences—a multi-disciplinary endeavor that draws on the disciplines of psychology, social psychology, sociology, and economics. The discipline utilizes a wide array of research techniques, ranging from experiments to longitudinal event history analysis, to computer simulations and ethnographic methods.
The Organization and Management faculty embody unity in diversity, and have a very active program of research and publication in the leading journals in management and the reference disciplines of psychology and sociology. Members of the faculty have a history of playing visible roles in the editorial boards of leading journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, American Journal of Sociology, Organization Science, and Strategic Management Journal.
