Polly Howes is a communications professional with more than 20 years of experience in public relations. She was group director of public and media relations for Coca-Cola North America and director of corporate communications at RJR Nabisco, Inc.
Polly, who is studying for a Ph.D. in mass communication at the University of Georgia, holds an MBA from Emory University's Goizueta Business School and a BA degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She provides public relations consulting services and teaches business communication at Georgia State University in addition to supporting the business writing and presentation coaching programs at Emory University.
While at Coca-Cola, Polly directed public and media relations as well as marketing communications programs for the company's U.S. business. She served as a company spokesperson and was a member of Coca-Cola North America's Executive Management Committee.
During her 14 years at Coca-Cola, Polly also held positions of Director of Communications for the Greater Europe Group, based in London, and Manager of Corporate Media Relations with responsibility for corporate, financial and international public relations.
Prior to joining Coca-Cola, Polly was Director of Corporate Communications for RJR Nabisco, Inc., where she also held a variety of internal, special events and financial communications positions. A native of Pittsburgh, PA, she began her career as a reporter for a community newspaper in Wake Forest, NC.
