Biography

Daphne Schechter leads Schechter Consulting, an organization that specializes in evaluating designing and implementing initiatives to maximize your organization’s talent and human capital. She most recently served as a Senior Consultant for The Coca-Cola Company's Workplace Fairness and Diversity Strategies department. In this role, she oversaw initiatives to enhance the company's people capabilities. She designed, developed and implemented initiatives such as Coca-Cola’s global base-line leadership and management training and global career planning strategy. In her previous role as Leadership Curriculum Manager for Coca-Cola's North America division, she spearheaded the launch of Coca-Cola's best in class Mentoring Program. She continues to consult with the company’s corporate and international divisions in addition to her clients in the financial, government and general business sectors.

Prior to joining Coca-Cola, Ms. Schechter spent nine years in a variety of roles in the telecommunications industry. She was a Marketing Manager for Lucent Technologies as well as a Senior National Account Manager with AT&T, responsible for NBC, General Electric (GE) Medical Systems, GE Information Services and GE Benefits.

In addition to her corporate roles, Ms. Schechter teaches MBA students at Emory University's Goizueta Business School. In Facilitating and Leading Teams (BUS 569), she trains students to lead breakout teams for Goizueta Plus, our core communication course. Upon completion of this course, students receive a Goizueta Certification in Facilitating and Leading Teams. Ms. Schechter also served as a business communications instructor at Georgia State University. As such, her areas of practice include corporate communications, organizational change, career planning, mentoring and networking. She co-authored several corporate courses and speaks regularly at national conferences, such as The Women's Food Service Forum, Best Practices in Mentoring, The Association for Business Communication's (ABC) and the International Association of Career Planners. She was published in university press as well as Microsoft's Executive Circle magazine.

Ms. Schechter earned a bachelor's degree in Spanish and Communications from Rutgers College, Rutgers University in New Jersey; and an MBA in International Business and Finance from Stern School of Business, New York University. She currently resides in Atlanta with her husband and two children.
