Biography
Brandon Smith is a Adjunct Faculty in the Practice of Management Communication at the Goizueta Business School at Emory University and the founder of The Workplace Therapist, LLC (www.theworkplacetherapist.com), a resource site dedicated to helping individuals overcome the challenges of workplace dysfunction. With extensive experience in both executive growth and corporate culture, Brandon’s expertise lies in the following domains:

- Team optimization and conflict resolution

- Stakeholder management and communication
Brandon has worked with organizations representing a variety of industries ranging from quick service restaurants to financial services including numerous Fortune 100 “Best Companies To Work For.” Brandon’s work with organizations is notable for its cutting edge approach at creating “Great Place to Work” organizations that not only possess high levels of employee engagement but also win in their respective markets.
In his faculty role at Goizueta, Brandon’s teaching includes courses in leadership communication, advanced management communication, influence and strategic corporate culture management. Brandon teaches in the Full-Time MBA program, Evening MBA program, Executive MBA Program and Executive Education.
In addition to serving as a frequent contributor to numerous publications in areas of leadership, culture, and strategy, Brandon has a regular radio segment every Saturday morning on Georgia Public Radio as part of Weekend Edition where Brandon serves as the resident “workplace therapist.” Brandon takes on listeners’ questions and other career and management-related topics so stay tuned!
In addition to executive coaching and consulting work, Brandon’s prior work experience includes leadership roles at AEGON (NYSE: AEG), a global insurance and financial services provider as well as Ridgeview Institute, a world-renown inpatient mental health facility.
Brandon received an undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University with a concentration in communications and team dynamics. His graduate work includes a M.S. in counseling from Georgia State University as well as a M.B.A. from Emory University's Goizueta Business School.
Brandon resides in Atlanta with his wife and their three children.
