Director's Message
The Goizueta Executive Program is rooted in a 40-year tradition of providing senior executives with the opportunity to engage in carefully structured conversations about issues that matter to their companies as well as their individual areas of responsibility. The program is designed to optimize the learning potential from a world-class faculty as well as from peers in the class. The design of three weeks scheduled over three months accommodates the job responsibilities of our typical senior level participant while also allowing for them to relate classroom ideas to on-the-job settings and then bring them back to the classroom again. It's a proven formula, as demonstrated by the endorsements we regularly receive from our graduates.
The program targets content relevant to the agenda of participants, typically general managers, vice presidents, or senior managers with significant strategic responsibilities for the firm. Week 1 of the program concentrates on strategy at the overall business unit level as well as marketing, operations and financial strategy. These concepts are linked through an integrated custom simulation that emphasizes decision making for shareholder value creation. Week 2 extends those strategic concepts to the global arena, identifying specific regions and countries that present both challenges and opportunities for growth. Finally, Week 3 concentrates on execution, emphasizing topics of leadership, organizational design, innovation and change management. Through case studies, the custom simulation and tailored exercises, participants are able to link theory to practice and to make specific application of course frameworks and models to the challenges of their home organization as well as to their personal leadership agenda.
