One-Year MBA FAQs
- Can you still have a full "MBA experience" in the One-Year MBA Program?
Absolutely! It may be only one year, but you can still have a complete MBA experience as a student in the One-Year MBA Program. Students receive the same degree and have the same faculty as two-year students. Students in the One-Year MBA Program can participate in almost every Goizueta activity. - Can I study abroad during the One-Year MBA Program?
Due to the short time frame of the One-Year MBA Program, students are not able to participate in a study abroad program. However, there is still an opportunity to explore the business and cultural environment of another country through our Global Leadership modules, which take place in the middle of the spring semester. - How is recruiting different in the One-Year MBA Program?
Students in the One-Year MBA Program have access to the same resources as those in the Two-Year Program. While the majority of the recruiting season occurs in the fall semester, One-Year MBA students will begin their job search strategy over the summer. During the summer you will attend workshops through the Career Management Center, begin to work on your resume, practice your interview skills, and your overall job searching strategy. Goizueta also offers a unique program called Goizueta PLUS, which will be conducted during the summer semester. Goizueta PLUS focuses on the acquisition, development, and practice of key leadership skills. The seminars concentrate on leadership, organizational fit, ethics, and learning and practicing strong communication skills. Applicants should realize that the opportunity for a summer internship does not exist and career changers should weigh this considerably. - How do employers feel about the One-Year MBA Program?
MBA recruiters understand the structure and rigor of our One-Year MBA Program and historically One-Year MBA candidates obtain job offers at a pace and salary level consistent with our Two¬-Year students. - As a One-Year MBA student, is it difficult to transition in with the 2nd year MBA students in the fall?
After spending an intense summer with just 50+ other students, it might seem overwhelming to attend classes with so many other students in the fall. However, during the summer, there will be several social and networking opportunities to meet your classmates from the Two-Year Program, so you will see many familiar faces in class. The fall LEAD Week will be your first opportunity to start working with your fellow classmates through an intensive leadership development program to start off the fall semester.
