International Applicants
About one-third of each MBA class comes from outside of the U.S. This significant number reflects our strong commitment to providing an international experience for all students so they can actively learn from each other about the interplay of cultural, political and business practices around the world.
The Admissions Committee strongly recommends (but does not require) that international applicants submit academic transcripts and other professional certifications through World Education Services (WES). For instructions and additional information, please visit www.wes.org.
Language Requirements
International applicants must submit all application materials, including official GMAT scores. For candidates whose native language is not English, we also require either the TOEFL or, in cases where the TOEFL is not available, the IELTS exam. The minimum required TOEFL score is 100 on the internet based test, 250 on the computer based test, or 600 for the paper-based test. The minimum required IELTS score is 7.0.
The TOEFL may be waived if candidates:
- Have spent at least 3 years in the U.S. working toward completion of an undergraduate degree, OR
- Have completed a graduate degree followed by at least 2 years of work in the U.S., OR
- Are from countries where their junior high school (equal to 7th and 8th grade in the U.S.) and high school education is in English; their full university education is in English; and commerce in their country is generally conducted in English. (Examples of such countries include: Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Ghana, Nigeria and Uganda.)

Welcome to Atlanta Week
Welcome to Atlanta Week is a required program for all incoming, admitted international students. During the week prior to Orientation, this program introduces new international students to professors, staff, and fellow students. Students are introduced to the Honor Code, presentation and team building skills, and elements of daily life, such as accent reduction and American slang. Welcome to Atlanta Week participants may also request to be matched with a "buddy" - a U.S. student in the same core course section. Buddies help new students adapt to the culture and academic life at Goizueta. For further information about Welcome to Atlanta Week, please contact International_Programs@bus.emory.edu.
