Within this site you will find the details pertaining to the NUBS 2007 schedule, travel and lodging, the optional Saturday excursions, and an updated list of registered attendees.
During the conference, we will make use of both the most current outside research and our own collective experiences in examining the motivations, attitudes and behaviors of the generational cohort born between 1982 and 2001. We will be devoting breakout and group sessions to a collaborative exploration of the ways in which some of our undergraduate business programs, communications, and services might be modified or enhanced in light of millennial insights. Our goal is to provide a forum during which NUBS participants can create and articulate best practices related to educating the millennial generation.
On Friday morning, we will form teams according to specific topics of interest. Each team will design a Millennial-inspired initiative or modification that relates to a particular component of the undergraduate business program. In the afternoon, the teams will present their finding to the larger group so that we can flush these ideas out together. Each team will be assisted by a millennial facilitator.
We are particularly excited to bring you generational and Millennial expert William Strauss as the conference keynote speaker. Mr. Strauss studies and writes about generational change in American history and is the co-founder of LifeCourse Associates, a marketing, HR, and strategic planning consultancy. He and his co-author Neil Howe are arguably the world’s foremost experts on the Millennial generation. Together they have co-authored six books, Generations (1991), 13th Gen (1993), The Fourth Turning (1997), Millennials Rising (2000), Millennials Go to College (2003), and Millennials and the Pop Culture (2006). We are delighted that Mr. Strauss will be speaking at our Friday luncheon. We are inviting a few colleagues from Emory University to join us for lunch so that they too may benefit from this extraordinary resource. While the rest of the NUBS conference is limited to our attending members, if you would like to extend a luncheon invitation to one of your academic colleagues, please let us know and we will be delighted to do so.
