Emory Executive Education Expands Course Offerings

This spring Emory Executive Education at Goizueta Business School introduces the Goizueta Leadership Suite - programs for executives wanting to increase their skill level in a particular area such as finance or decision making.

Each course is concentrated into two days, and is taught from dual perspectives. For example, in a course called "Organizational and Individual Resilience," a strategic management professor teaches the organizational approach with a personal executive coach providing the individual aspects of the course.

In the evening between the two-day course, high-level executives from related industries will speak to the participants about the topic of study.

"The form of the Leadership Suite is unique," said Goizueta Professor Michael Sacks, who teaches in two of the five courses in the series. "Instead of sitting passively listening to lectures, the attendees work in groups in order to learn from and interact with each other in addition to the professor."

The course provides a roadmap for students, with checkpoints along the way.  At each checkpoint there will be an exercise in which participants must apply what they have learned before moving forward.

"Participants in the Goizueta Leadership Suite will leave with a tangible set of skills that they have practiced during the interactive sessions," said Lisa A. Kaminski, Associate Dean of Emory Executive Education. "They will be able to apply those new skills immediately upon returning to their jobs."

The cost of each course is $1,995.  For participants who later decide to pursue an executive MBA at Goizueta Business School, the cost of the course will be credited toward their executive MBA tuition.  Participants who take three courses in the Leadership Suite during one calendar year will receive a Goizueta Leadership Certificate.
