Real World Conversations: Students, Faculty and Industry Experts Share Insights

Beginning in September, Goizueta began a school-wide forum to come together to discuss current topics.  Entitled "Real World Conversations", these events bring students, faculty, and industry experts together to share insights and opinions on the latest news and its impact on global business.  In conjunction with the ongoing Dean's Speaker Series, the inaugural series of Real World Conversations have included the following: 

  • September 24: Professor Ray Hill on "The Current Financial Crisis: My Own Interpretation"
  • October 3: Professors Nicholas Valerio, Tom Smith, Ray Hill, and JB Kurish on the current financial and political situation in the US and its impact on the global market.
     
  • October 9: G.W. "Bill" Holden, president of The Sandy Springs Community Bank, and member of the Goizueta Advisory Board, facilitated discussion on the US economic market and the impacts of the government bailout plan.  
  • October 24: The Dean's Speaker series welcomed BNY Mellon Wealth Management's Leo Grohowski to discuss the credit crisis on Wall Street and career prospects for new MBA students.
  • October 30: "The U.S. Economy: What Happened and What's Next" was open to local media and featured professors Jim Grissett, Greg Waymire, Ray Hill, Tom Smith, Susan Gilbert and Dean Larry Benveniste.
  • November 3rd: Professors Allison Burdette and Jeff Rosensweig discussed "Election 2008:  The Impact of Public Policy on Business."
