Emory MBAs Volunteer Their Hands for Atlanta

Every fall Goizueta students team together on a project with local non-profit agency Hands On Atlanta to help support our community.  This year's even took place on October 4th and featured perfect weather for our project: building an outdoor classroom for the students of Avondale High School, a local high school a few miles from campus.

Over thirty Goizueta students gathered together, and after a pep talk and brief directions, headed out to their assignments.  Our skills in demolition, bench-building, and landscaping were put to the test as we cleared out the area and built it back, literally from the ground up.  Several Avondale High School students joined in the fun as we worked side-by-side to complete the classroom area.

The day was an amazing opportunity to work with fellow classmates outside of class and nothing bonds you more quickly than fighting the hard Georgia clay to build something new for a great group of students.  You could really feel the sense of achievement felt by all and it was an amazing experience!
